Last week, I had the privilege of visiting Washington, D.C. again! Having already been once, I had an idea of where I wanted to go straight away.
As soon as we checked into the hotel, a group of us decided to get ready and head downtown straight away. It’s very rare to get crew like this out together because most of us like to rest right after a flight. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised!

An American flag flies at half mast to honour the victims of the recent attack in Orlando, Florida.
The first place we visited downtown was the Lincoln Memorial. From there, we walked to the National World War II Memorial, Washington Monument and down to The White House. Thankfully, all of these places are relatively close to one another, so we were able to visit the entire area in just a few hours.

After walking around all day, we decided to grab some food a local pub before catching the metro back to our hotel. There is a nice shopping mall where we stay, so you can guess where we ended up for the rest of the day!
If you go: It’s always busy in the summer. Try to go earlier in the day to avoid the crowds.
Next Stop: Karachi, Pakistan (turnaround) and Birmingham, England.
